detroit space rock supercharger randall nieman began füxa in 1995 after leaving windy and carl. he has since collaborated with stereolab, add N to [x], piano magic, the telescopes + even kid rock! as füxa, randall has made lots of great albums for many inspirational independent labels including rocket girl, che, mind expansion and ochre. every one of them made to make you feel good.
'the modified mechanics of this device' is füxa's album for antenna. we like to think it's a great first release for any label. and others agreed, from experimental programs such as BBC radio 3s 'mixing it', to magazines dedicated to new music such as 'the wire', the response to these recordings have been great. the radio times even described the album as a 'mind expanding masterpiece'.
randall may presently be found working on a new album whilst preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of füxa and mind expansion. he has also contributed to the new Telescopes album, out now on antenna.
